I awoke I stood I began
I stood in the arms of calm blue waters No waves no bubbles no churning beneath the surface but still I was afraid For an instant I contemplated running to the shore .back to the barren sands But when I moved to flee .the water was calm . I challenged the water to ripple but even when I roared it remained calm
So I laid myself down
I sank slowly to my knees My hair clung already so

It was like standing on a cliff A cliff of black rock frighteningly high The wind whiped my hair wildly about And I peered over The water is angry beautiful grey and green and blue It churned and swirled and frothed. The waves cracked against the face of the plateau. White capped over dark depths. My hand wandered to my left shoulder and sliped the cloth from my body I let it pool at my feet. There was no fear, no shame, no second thought
I leaped.
I fell
